CROW, ROB |
| Living Well |
Somewhere between the breakneck touring to support Pinbacks breakthrough Touch and Go debut, Summer in Abaddon, and the release of The Ladies debut album (his collaboration with Zach Hill of Hella/Team Sleep), the impossibly prolific Rob Crow had an epiphany: SLOW DOWN. Not coincidentally, this revelation occurred shortly after the birth of his first child (named Robertdale Crow III, of course). Crows time at home was suddenly more important than ever. His family is all over Living Well, his third solo album: in the album title, the artwork (layered with dozens of family photos), and the intensely personal lyrics which document Crows courtship with his wife, their marriage, and the subsequent birth of their first child. Not only is Living Well Crows finest solo album by a country mile, it also transcends many of Pinbacks most canonic moments. It has the hooks and heart that he is famous for, with a refined focus not seen in Crows other projects.

CEX |
| Sketchi |
Six years in the making, Sketchi is Cexs densest, darkest album yet. Slow-moving ambient dirges that are heavy on the beats, and light on vocals (being instrumental and all). There are sounds in these songs that you will swear are not of this world, and truth be told, you never know with the Cex man. Take all your clothes off, paint your face, beat your fists into the floor and pray that this lasts forever. Bit it cant, and this strange brew is strictly limited to 1,000 copies, carefully assembled by hand and numbered by the loving fingers of the TRL staff. You know what they say about too much of a good thing...

CAROLINE |
| Murmurs Mixes |

BELLINI |
| The Precious Prize of Gravity |
Recorded as always with long-time collaborator Steve Albini, The Precious Prize of Gravity is Bellinis most accomplished production yet. Guitarist Agostino Tilotta wraps a hundred notes per minute around the towering, sturdy rhythm section of Matthew Taylor and Alexis Fleisig (Girls Against Boys), while Giovanna Cacciolas poetic lyrics and smoky melodies alternately recall Grace Slick and PJ Harvey. With no less than four songs centering around the deaths of loved ones (including the heart-wrenching The Thin Line, featuring Andy Cohen and Tim Midgett of Silkworm/Bottomless Pit), Precious Prize is lyrically Bellinis darkest album yet. Never wanting to repeat themselves, the songs are more complex and progressive than the comparatively stark Small Stones, with a driving, X-inspired cowpunk vibe throughout.

BOOKS |
| The Way Out |
Over the course of three albums in nearly a decades time, the Books have grown to become one of modern musics most genuine innovators. Creatively complex and truly unclassifiable, The Way Out continues the Books tradition of meticulous, existential songcraft, infusing the playfully surreal elements of previous albums with a humorous, childlike excitement. Produced and recorded as always in the Books home studios, The Way Out expands on the charm and intimacy of past endeavors with a deeper emotional resonance and an ever-impressive marriage of seemingly disparate sound worlds. With The Way Out, the Books have mastered the precarious balance of beauty, absurdity and accessibility. The CD version comes with a large 10x20-inch full-color foldout poster. The deluxe 2xLP format comes packaged with 36 full-color die-cut stickers for you to design and decorate your own unique record cover!
