Started (as Matt Coleman (2)) as an in-house engineer at Jungle/Drum'n'Bass label SOUR and its Hip Hop and Breaks affiliates.
Introduced to UK Garage in 1997 by Ramsey & Fen, who he worked with as Rafmat, and DJs from the London Underground pirate radio station, who worked with MJ Cole to produce tracks on V.I.P. (Very Important Plastic).
Established Prolific Recordings in 1998 and 892 Recordings in 2016.
Signed by Gilles Peterson to Talkin' Loud in 2000, on which he released his first and second albums.
Returned to his classical music roots in 2020 with his third album on Decca.
